About Toadstone Media
A filmmaker who accidentally fell in love with weddings and recitals - and never looked back.
The Filmmaker
I'm Eric, the proud filmmaker behind Toadstone Media.
My path to filmmaking started somewhere unexpected: the skydiving community. A friend made a short film for the Louisiana Film Prize and I won a ticket to the festival just by sharing his post on Facebook. I went, watched the films, and left thinking: I want to make one too.
So I did. I made three short films - and had the best time of my life doing it. Filmmaking gave me a creative outlet I didn't know I was missing, and the people in that world made it even better. The collaborators, the storytellers, the audiences - it turns out the people are always the best part. The universe, it seemed, was trying to tell me something.
Teachers at a local dance school heard about my films and asked me to be their recital videographer. I said yes without hesitation. I loved it immediately - the energy of the performances, the pride on every dancer's face, the families in the audience barely holding it together. Another door, opening exactly when it was supposed to.
And then one of those dance teachers got proposed to at a recital and asked me to film her wedding. I don't think that was a coincidence. That was it - I loved everything about it. The emotion, the storytelling, the weight of being trusted with one of the most important days of someone's life. I've been doing it ever since, and it never gets old.
Today, Toadstone Media is built around two things I genuinely love: weddings and recitals. I bring over a decade of experience, an award-winning filmmaking background, and a trusted network of photographers and second shooters to every project I take on. Based in Austin, TX - and no stranger to packing up and going wherever the story takes me.

01
Professional cinema cameras, thoughtful composition, and an instinct for finding the story in a room - developed over a decade of filmmaking and event work.
02
I'm not just there to do a job. I genuinely care about the people I film and the moments I'm trusted to capture. That shows up in every frame.
03
Great storytelling needs great craft behind it. I bring both - the creative instinct and the technical precision to make sure every film looks and sounds as good as it feels.
04
Whether it's a grand ballroom wedding or a first-year dance recital, the level of care I bring is exactly the same. The event changes. The commitment doesn't.
